Thought Field Therapy™ (TFT) is the method that is at the source of what is called “tapping” today. It was created by the late Dr. Roger Callahan, a psychotherapist. TFT is energy psychology. Dr. Callahan was an explorer who experimented with a number of methods and discovered that within minutes, by tapping certain points and activating certain energy flows in the body (like a no-needle acupuncture), the body’s autonomic nervous system could be re-balanced. TFT is actually evidence-based for treating trauma, PTSD, stress, anxiety and many other disorders, meaning that TFT has been tested by an independent body and satisfied a number of criteria.
TFT is very simple to use and extremely powerful. It works with the meridians but also with certain energy centers of the body. The advantage of TFT is that you can learn to do it for yourself and can do it anywhere, anytime.
I fell in love with TFT after taking a TFT session and noticing the life-changing positive impact the session had on me regarding a problem I had been struggling with for over ten (10) years. I followed up by studying with Joanne Callahan, Dr. Callahan’s widow. I certified at the algorithm level and later took the TFT Life Coach course. TFT has been successfully used around the world, in war zones, in Rwanda, in Kosovo, and many other places, to treat PTSD. It works with any culture. The goal of TFT is to empower the individual and teach them how to heal themselves. TFT can be used as a stand-alone or in combination with other techniques
